Clan Macondo – Women’s World Rhythms
Women’s World Rhythms forms part of Clan Macondo – an umbrella scheme developed in Glasgow which includes dancers, musicians and artists from all over the world.
Created through a fusion of Latin American and Middle-Eastern dance styles this dance class introduces women not just to a new and fun way of exercising, but also to the cultures that these dance forms come from.
Maritza and Rose work hard to give students a good workout and also succeed in making the class fun and accessible. Creche is provided, courtesy of Maryhill Mobile Creche.
Amazingly the whole two hour class is completely FREE, thanks to support from Maryhill Integration Network.
Rose leads the first hour, focusing on warming up the body, dance technique and posture. The second hour led by Maritza offers the more creative aspects of dance where we will introduce choreographies and work on pieces for performances and events.
Women’s World Rhythms takes place in The Whiteinch Centre every Tuesday night, from 7pm-9pm.
