Summer Programme 2008 – The story so far…
We’re more than halfway through The Whiteinch Centre’s first ever Summer Programme and it has so far been a great success.
The Gladiators giant inflatable obstacle course, put in place by Culture and Sport Glasgow, has attracted more than 30 local kids every week and has been fantastic fun.
Art sessions run by local tutor Sammy have been as messy as a good art class should be and children and adults alike have produced excellent work – photos can be seen above. Displays of all work should be in Teapots Cafe soon.
Creative Writing and IT classes have been offered in conjunction with Culture and Sport Glasgow. Other IT classes with a more creative focus have been delivered by tutors Sheila and Allison and have been well attended.
Healthy Family Lunches, supported by West Glasgow Community Health & Care Partnership and delivered by Teapots Cafe staff, have helped parents and children alike to think about simple ways to eat more healthily. Lunches have included baked potatoes, soups, sandwiches and fruit salad.
All in all, Summer in The Whiteinch Centre has been bright and sunny!
Classes and activities will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays until August 13th and some spaces are still available. Contact Ruth or Anne at the Centre for more information.
